Available Programs

Woodland Farms provides an array of training, lesson, and lease programs that are suitable for our client’s needs; we are dedicated to finding a program that works best for each rider and horse. We believe every rider should have a strong foundation and understanding of how to work with and handle a horse. As part of the lesson program, we will provide a lesson horse or pony suitable for the riders’ needs and teach them how to work with their horse while grooming and tacking them up before rides, as well as untacking and preparing them to go back home when finished. It is important for our riders to establish a bond with their horse and learn responsibility through caring for them. We strive to create more than a good rider; we strive to create an excellent horseperson.

 FAQs

  • Students should wear long pants and a closed-toed shoe with a heel. Helmets can be provided by Woodland Farms for the first 30 days, at the end of which students are expected to have purchased their own boots and ASTM/SEI certified helmet.

  • Lessons include 45 -60 minutes of the trainer’s time. For beginner riders, part of this time will include learning to groom and tack/untack. More experienced riders should plan to arrive at their lesson with enough time for grooming and tacking before their scheduled ride time.

  • To keep our lesson program organized, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for canceling or rescheduling lessons. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or no-calls/no-shows are forfeited and are non-refundable. Make-up lesson must be used within 14 days of the missed lesson.

  • We recommend riders be at least 6 years old.

  • It’s never too late to get in the saddle! We have a strong contingent of adult amateurs, some who are riding again after many years away, and others who are picking up this sport for the first time.

  • Payment can be made via cash, check, Zelle, or Venmo. Sorry, we do not accept credit cards at this time.

Monthly payment is due in full on or before the 10th of the month. All lessons must be used in the month they are purchased. Unused lessons will be forfeited and are non-refundable.
